Students Fieldwork Experience & Workshop

◎Happo-one Environment – Students Fieldwork Experience

Happo-one is located within the boundaries of Chubu-Sangaku National Parklands. It is a vast stretch of mountainous terrain and throughout the changing of seasons attracts many visitors for the purpose of hiking and mountaineering in the summer and enjoying snow sports in the winter. Happo-one is one of the most alpine plant-rich areas in Japan, with unique plant species and high mountain vegetation and the rock called “serpentine” has a great influence on this vegetation. This is a program to think about the problems that threaten the natural environment while experiencing the unique geology of Happo-one.

Example of schedule:
Gondola ride to Usagidaira → Slide presentation on environmental activities → Fieldwork (trekking to Happo-ike Pond) → Descent
This program takes about 3 to 4 hours.
