In celebration of the 150th anniversary of Nagano Prefecture in 2026, we are running a special tourism campaign called the “Motto Shiritai! Shinshu Experience Discount.” Through this campaign, Nagano residents can receive a 50% discount, and visitors from outside Nagano can receive a 20% discount. Please note: The Kurobishi No.3 Pair Lift is NOT included in the Happo Alpine Line ticket.

① On-Site Ticket Counter

• Discount: Regular price (No discount)

• Pros: Can be purchased spontaneously on the day without any pre-planning; no membership registration required.

• Cons: * Long queues are expected early in the morning and during peak seasons.

• Direct Boarding: ❌ NO (You must line up at the ticket window)

② Motto Shinshu Discount (150th Anniversary Campaign)

• Discount: Best value (Up to 50% OFF) 50% off for Nagano residents, 20% off for non-Nagano residents.

• Pros: The cheapest way to purchase tickets.

• Cons: * Limited to one purchase per person during the campaign period.

  • Even with advance online purchase, you must exchange it for a paper ticket at the window.

  • Requires a separate membership registration on “Asoview!”.

• Direct Boarding: ❌ NO (Ticket window exchange required)

③ Convenience Store Tickets（7-Eleven、FamilyMart、Lawson、MINISTOP）

• Discount: ¥300 off

• Pros: Skip the ticket counter and head straight to the gondola entrance!

• Cons: Non-refundable under any circumstances, including bad weather.

• Direct Boarding: ⭕ YES (Skip the ticket window and go straight to the gate)

④ Online Purchase (Official Website)

• Discount: ¥200 off for Adults, ¥100 off for Children

• Pros: Free cancellation up until 16:00 on the day of your visit.

• Cons: Even if purchased in advance via smartphone, you must exchange it for a paper ticket at the window.

• Direct Boarding: ❌ NO (Ticket window exchange required)

⑤ Local Accommodations, Tourism Bureaus & Roadside Stations (Michi-no-Eki)

Available at: Happo Information Center, Hakuba Village Tourism Bureau Information Desk at Snow Peak Land Station, Happo Bus Terminal, Michi-no-Eki Hakuba, Michi-no-Eki Otari, and participating local accommodations，JHN  Travel ＆More)

• Discount: ¥300 off

• Pros: * Skip the ticket counter and head straight to the gondola entrance!

  • Easy purchase at your accommodation or nearby info centers.

  • Features a beautiful, exclusive Happo Pond ticket design.

• Cons: Availability and operating hours may vary depending on the accommodation.

• Direct Boarding: ⭕ YES

⑥ Klook (Scheduled to open in mid-to-late June)

• Discount: Discounted rates available

• Pros: Great value, and PayPay is accepted.

• Cons: No cancellations or changes allowed after purchase.

• Direct Boarding: ❌ NO (Ticket window exchange required)

⚠️ General Notes & Guidelines

• What is “Direct Boarding”? This means you can bypass the ticket counter (window) and go straight to the gondola/lift boarding gate. However, please note that you may still need to line up at the gondola entrance depending on the crowd that day.

• Lift Restrictions: Please be aware that the Happo Alpine Line ticket does not allow you to ride the Kurobishi No.3 Pair Lift.

💡 Quick Guide: Which Ticket is Best for You?

“I want to skip the ticket window lines and get a discount!” (Note: Gondola lines may still apply) 👉 Go with ③ Convenience Store or ⑤ Local Accommodations & Information Centers! You can skip the ticket window entirely and head straight to the gate.

“I just want the absolute lowest price.” 👉 Go with ② Motto Shinshu Discount (50% off for Nagano residents / 20% off for others). Please note there is a 1-time limit per person.

“I’m worried about the weather and my plans might change.” 👉 Go with ④ Online Purchase. This is your safest bet as it offers free cancellation until 16:00 on the day of your visit.
