Happo Alpen Line

Happo Alpen Line

Happo Alpen Line includes the Adam Gondola, the Alpen quad lift, and the Grat quad lift. The distance is approximately 3,445m long. After exiting from the Grat quad lift you will immediately approach Happo-ike Hut continuing to the first cairn at 1,830m above sea level. From here you continue to ascend for a further 40 minutes and as you ascend, the ridges spread out in all directions then come together one by one until you reach the main ridge, where you can clearly view Happo Ridge and some of the main peaks of the Northern Alps such as Hakuba San Zan and Goryu-dake.

Looking north you can also see the mountains at the Shinetsu border such as Korenge, Hakuba Norikura, and Amakazari. Further north is the Togakushi mountain range and Mount Iizuna which are the mountains of the Joshin border stretching far across to the east. Yokote, Azumaya and Asama lie to the west, and the mountains of the Koshin border, such as Utsukushi-ga-hara and the Yatsuga-take mountain range are in the south.
