Started in 1947, the Riesen Slalom is Japan’s oldest and largest amateur ski race, celebrating its 80th anniversary in 2026. This program explores the history and charm of the event, the passion of the people who support it, and the stories of over 500 skiers across generations who took on the challenge. It also looks at the present and future of Hakuba as it continues to evolve as a world-class resort.
